The Indianapolis Colts’ experiment with Anthony Richardson has hit another roadblock, raising serious questions about the young quarterback’s future.
Injuries have plagued Richardson throughout his brief NFL career, and he has played in just half of the possible games in his two seasons.
His on-field struggles have only amplified concerns about whether the Colts made the right choice with their quarterback investment, using the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on the Florida product.
The situation took another turn when head coach Shane Steichen revealed Richardson would miss the upcoming minicamp with a shoulder injury.
“Is it time to call Anthony Richardson a bust?” Dov Kleiman asked on X.

The responses painted a concerning picture of fan sentiment.
One fan stated, “Could have been great … but decided to just exist on the roster instead.”
Another simply replied, “Big time.”
Some fans offered potential solutions rather than outright condemnation.
“He needs a OC that can help him throw from the pocket,” one suggested.
However, criticism remained harsh from another who wrote, “Built like a star, plays like he’s allergic to effort.”
The skepticism ran deeper with another fan asking, “Lmao, is there really an argument that he ISN’T a bust?”
One response highlighted both player and organizational concerns: “His fault for not honing his skills more in college and the Colts poor decision for drafting only a 13 game experienced QB.”
Richardson now faces genuine competition from Daniel Jones for the starting job.
The Colts have ruled out surgery for Richardson’s current shoulder issue but declined to provide a timeline for his recovery.
Training camp represents his next opportunity to prove himself.
With fans losing patience and his starting spot no longer guaranteed, Richardson must address his accuracy issues and fundamental throwing mechanics to salvage his Indianapolis tenure.
