This week’s Dallas Mavericks fan poll references team building. As the Mavericks are expected to use the number one overall pick on Duke forward Cooper Flagg, the roster as it will stand the day after the draft will be very forward and center heavy.
The first question asked whether or not fans expected Dallas to make some kind of move. 86% of respondents agreed that Dallas will very likely make a move of some kind.
Which opens us to the second question. There are two very obvious trade candidates on the last year of their respective contracts. However, Daniel Gafford is clearly the guy fans think is the movable player, with six out of ten poll respondents thinking he’ll be the player that gets moved. PJ Washington got just one in five responses with “Other” coming in last with just 17%.
The national email poll was focused on the NBA Finals. The first question concluded that most fans will be rooting for the Pacers. These polls were conducted before Game 1.
Despite the Pacers winning game one, the Thunder are still -330 favorites to win the whole thing according to FanDuel. Four in five fans also thought the Thunder would win the series.
A huge majority of fans asserted that they didn’t care whether the teams in the finals hailed from less heralded markets. This is good.
As I am old, I do not understand this aura question, but fans are pretty evenly split on it.
Hopefully, the Finals keeps going for at least six games.
