The off-season often brings around a lot of change not just in players but also in managers.
This often features different clubs, at different times across the off-season period of May to early July.
Now, former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in the conversation for the Inter Milan manager position following the departure of their former manager Simone Inzaghi after their Champions League final loss against Paris Saint Germain.
Mourinho Dismisses Claims
However, Mourinho has been reported to have denied claims that he is going to return to Inter Milan, the club he was manager of in the 2008/09 season and 2009/10 seasons. Speaking on the matter, he said:
“It’s a big lie. There was never even any contact. They say this for pissed off people. And so they say it was difficult to leave Fenerbahce and blah blah blah”
Mourinho was Manchester United manager for 3 seasons – 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19. In this timeframe, he was able to bring success to Old Trafford with the Reds winning the Europa League in 2017 alongside the EFL Cup.
As well as this, the Portuguese boss took the Red Devils to the FA Cup Final in 2018 where they would be defeated by Chelsea. In that same season, he was able to finish 2nd in the Premier League with local rivals Manchester City finishing as champions.
Firstly, he was manager of Tottenham Hotspur where he took Spurs to the EFL Cup final but was dismissed days before the final.
Following his spell with the North London side, he moved to Roma where he was able to establish success as the manager of the club winning the Europa Conference League whilst also taking Roma to the Europa League final before leaving the club in the 2023-24 season.
He then went on to manage Fenerbahçe who he has managed since 2024.
