Arsenal are reportedly now Leroy Sane’s preferred destination if he leaves Bayern Munich, though that’s still far from a certainty at this stage.

Bild’s Christian Falk reports that Arsenal are ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Leroy Sane, with Spurs fading from the race in recent days.
In fact, Sane’s favours a move to London and the Gunners over all of the alternatives – if he leaves Bayern Munich – and he’s made that clear to his new agent Pini Zahavi.
The player reportedly also has interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but those options are evidently further down his list.

That doesn’t mean Arsenal are necessarily the favourites overall. Throughout the process, a Bayern Munich contract extension has always seemed like the most probable option.
Bild have repeatedly stated that both Bayern and Sane want to continue together, and it’s just a matter of finding a compromise they’re both happy with.
But with a decision still yet to be made and less than a month remaining on his Bayern deal, an Arsenal move seems increasingly possible.

Multiple English media sources reported last week that Arsenal were considering pursuing Sane’s free transfer.
Gary Jacob and Paul Joyce wrote for The Times that Arsenal were showing strong interest, with Mikel Arteta keen to target a winger this summer.
Mike McGrath confirmed for The Telegraph that Arsenal had made enquiries over Sane, as one of a few clubs who have asked about the conditions of a deal.
Yet until a Bayern extension is off the table, it’s probably not worth getting too invested in the potential move.
