Chelsea will be able to bring in some new faces over the next couple of months

Chelsea are preparing for the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season. They have already secured the signing of striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. He caught the eye at Portman Road in the last campaign following his exit from Manchester City 12 months ago.

The Blues have the opportunity to bring in some more signings over the next couple of months. They also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door should they wish to. We have asked AI to predict their transfer activity, here are the results…

Chelsea predicted to boost midfield department

Chelsea have been predicted to secure an eye-catching deal for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. Landing the England international would be an impressive coup by the London outfit and a statement of intent. He would add more quality to their options in the middle of the park if he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Mainoo, 20, is valued at around the £70 million mark, according to a report by TNT Sports. The youngster has broken into United’s first-team over the past couple of years and is a highly-rated talent. He has made 72 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils to date and has chipped in with seven goals.

AI has also backed Chelsea to snap up promising teenager Chris Rigg from Sunderland. The 17-year-old has risen up through the ranks at the Stadium of Light. He was a regular for the Black Cats at various different youth levels before becoming one of their senior team’s most prized assets.

If the Blues brought in Rigg, he would be one for the future. He made 47 outings in this past campaign for his boyhood club and found the net on four occasions. The North East club were promoted to the top flight last month from the Championship after beating Sheffield United 2-1 at Wembley in the play-off final, with Tommy Watson scoring a last-gasp winner.

Chelsea backed to bolster attacking ranks

Despite the recent addition of Delap, AI has tipped to Chelsea to further strengthen their attacking arsenal by luring Maximilian Beier to England. He joined Borussia Dortmund last year from Hoffenheim so it would be a surprise to move on already.

He is under contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2029 so Dortmund are under no pressure to sell him. The 22-year-old fired eight goals in the Bundesliga during his first term with his current club. Like Delap, he is a pacey striker who likes to run with the ball.

Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has also been mentioned as other acquisition for Chelsea. Eddie Howe won’t want to lose the 24-year-old, especially to a league rival. The Toon Army’s chances of keeping hold of him have been boosted by the fact they qualified for the Champions League as well.

Gordon linked up with them back in 2023 and he has since been a useful weapon for them on the wing. His speed can cause real problems to opposition full-backs. Prior to his switch to the North East, he caught the eye playing for Everton.
