Arsenal have “made first enquiries” about Morgan Rogers to Aston Villa ahead of a potential move, according to Daily Express senior reporter Charlie Gordon.
It has been another nearly season for Arsenal, one that saw them finish second in the Premier League for the third consecutive campaign, only this time behind Liverpool rather than Manchester City. In the Champions League, the Gunners were eliminated by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, with exits from both domestic cups before the finals.
For all the good work that Mikel Arteta has done as Arsenal manager since 2019, he will be all too aware of the fact that he is yet to win another major honour since that year’s FA Cup. The Gunners have already been active this summer, having agreed a deal in principle for midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and are interested in striker Benjamin Sesko. Now, it seems that Arsenal are keen to bolster their creative options.

Charlie Gordon has reported that Arsenal have made an enquiry into the availability of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, though are yet to receive a response. Since joining Villa from Middlesbrough in 2024, Rogers has developed into a star, enjoying a breakout year last season under Unai Emery’s management.

Villa qualified for European competition for the third-straight campaign last season, in no small part due to Rogers’ contributions. The 22-year-old, who made his debut for England last season, is a player that Aston Villa would demand “big money” for were he to leave, with the Daily Mail reporting that Rogers would cost £100 million.
Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard is a naturally creative player, but one that struggled with his output in the 2024/25 campaign. In Rogers, who Sky Sports' Dan Bardell called "frightening," the Gunners would be signing a player that has proven he can cope with not only the Premier League, but the Champions League, as Arsenal hope that next season is the term in which they finally win another honour under Arteta.
