Newcastle United would need to pay a significant fee to Nottingham Forest to sign Anthony Elanga, but if they did, Forest could turn to two quality replacements and still have money to spare.
Newcastle are interested in Elanga in what looks set to be another summer of interest in the Swedish international winger, who continues to improve every season.
Six goals and 12 assists put Elanga up alongside Chris Wood as the Forest squad’s most productive attackers, so Nuno Espírito Santo won’t be too pleased to hear about Eddie Howe’s pursuit of the Swede.
Forest don’t need to sell this summer so Newcastle would need to produce a deal too good to turn down. If that scenario did play out, there are two bargain wingers Evangelos Marinakis should pounce on to arguably improve the Reds squad.

Roony Bardghji
There might not be a bigger bargain in European football right now than 19-year-old Swedish wonderkid, Roony Bardghji.
Forest are interested in Bardghji, who would only cost a reported £10m to sign from FC Copenhagen as the Danish side haven’t managed to tie the young star to a new contract.
🚨 Roony Bardghji has not agreed on new deal at FC Copenhagen and many clubs are interested in the Swedish talent, as @bolddk reports.

His talent is unquestioned, but Bardghji did suffer a serious knee injury that has slowed down his rapid rise somewhat. However, his ambition is still present as Bardghji wants to be the best footballer in the world, a level of ambition that must appeal to Marinakis.

Forest’s interest in Johan Bakayoko is almost similar to Newcastle’s pursuit of Elanga, with a number of failed attempts in previous windows.
Last summer, Forest made a bid for Bakayoko but the Belgian wanted to be a part of a title challenge, while the Reds’ continued interest in January was halted as Bakayoko looked set for a move to the Bundesliga.
Now, though, the Daily Mail is reporting that Bournemouth are preparing a £20m bid to tempt the 22-year-old to the Premier League, a deal that Forest could easily rival or even better if Elanga were to depart.
A consistently more reliable goalscorer than Elanga, Bakayoko has also shown the ability to match the Swede’s creativity, registering 14 assists in the 23/24 season.
Nobody at Forest will want to lose Elanga, but if Newcastle do come forward with a bid too good to refuse, there are options available to Marinakis to both replace and profit from an Elanga sale.
