A former Dallas Cowboys player is facing charges stemming from a car crash that led to the death of a motorcyclist.
A 27-year-old woman was killed early Saturday morning while driving on U.S. Highway 75 near Dallas, [via WFAA](https://www.wfaa.com/article/traffic/dallas-us-75-shut-down-crash/287-89627587-5919-4804-a004-69d37eb5cb12). No other people of vehicles were initially located at the scene of the crash.
Plano Police said 25-year-old Kelvin Joseph Jr. called and said he had been involved in a crash while driving on the same stretch of road in his BMW.
Police said they observed signs of intoxication when speaking to Joseph, a former Cowboys cornerback. He was arrested and charged with DWI and collision involving personal injury or death.
Joseph was the Cowboys’ second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played two seasons with the team and tallied 36 total tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 26 games. He has also played for Miami, Indianapolis, and Seattle, and most recently played for the D.C. Defenders of the UFL.
In 2022, Joseph was a person of interest in a murder investigation that ultimately led to two arrests.
