have attacked the summer transfer window as you might expect considering the amount of work that needs doing to rectify their misfiring squad.

On the first day of the window, United announced the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5million. He was long-seen as a swoop that could be done quickly, due to his desire to play for United.

Attention for the Old Trafford giants has now turned to Brentford player Bryan Mbeumo. The Bees are currently in the midst of a period of transition amid suggestions that Thomas Frank could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur as manager, but United still seem confident they can get a deal done.

Once the Mbeumo deal comes to its natural conclusion, whether that means he signs or not, United will still need to address the centre-forward position. Liam Delap was the prime target - but he's decided to join Chelsea instead.

Victor Osimhen appears not to be an option at this stage with Al-Hilal working hard to try and get a transfer done. Viktor Gyokeres is an undoubted favourite of Ruben Amorim, but it also remains unclear if his desire's to play in the Champions League next season or not.

Therefore, with the usual suspects exhausted, United could be forced to look for more niche options. One of those such alternatives is former Everton frontman Moise Kean.

The Fiorentina centre-forward bagged 25 goals this season in all competitions - 19 of which came in Serie A. At 25, Kean is the right age of player that Ineos want to attract and he has matured as a player since his lacklustre stint at Everton.

United could also feel that Kean is a more realistic target for their budget with Tutto Mercato valuing the forward at £43.8million. On top of that, Amorim may look to enlist the services of 'agent' David De Gea to get a deal done.

De Gea may have left United hastily, but that was mainly due to his perceived treatment from previous manager Erik ten Hag, rather than anything the club did. It is undeniable fact that players consult with their peers before moving to a new team and you can imagine that the goalkeeper would give United a glowing review if Kean was to sought his opinion.

With money still tight for United, Ineos and Amorim may need to explore these unfancies deals to improve their squad. Kean may be a striker they feel is worth the gamble.
