Luis Diaz has admitted that he has been speaking to other clubs, as he waits for Liverpool to come forward with a new contract offer. Some fans in the ECHO comments section say that the club should be getting on with a serious offer as soon as possible to avoid trouble in the future.
The Reds have already knocked back an approach by Barcelona, in the current summer transfer window, and Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in him, too. Diaz has said that he's happy at Liverpool and would sign a fair contract offer or play out his current agreement.
He has two years left on his contract, having signed in January 2022 under Jurgen Klopp. He's kept his place under Arne Slot - and has scored 41 times in 148 games.

Speaking at a World Cup qualifier press conference, Diaz was open about the situation. "We're currently in contact with Liverpool, because we are talking to clubs - and that's normal given the transfer market that is opening. We're trying to arrange what's best for us," he explained.
"We're talking to clubs, it's normal in the market and we're looking at what’s best for us.
"I'm waiting to see what happens.
"If they give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I'll be happy. Now it's up to them."
Some fans would back a fresh offer, for such an important player. Reader Livfan wrote: "Hope we keep players like Lucho - and not bring in players that are worth huge millions without anything to show for it.
"It seems that a season of real madness is coming." Commenter Zakky added: "Need to keep Diaz at all costs but, if he doesn't sign a new and improved contract, then get rid. Don't let him run down his contract."
Doctorchillgood says Diaz deserves to be rewarded. "In today's world, [a reported] £55,000-per-week doesn't reflect the impact of Luis Diaz on this team's successes," he explained. Sitting 18th on their payroll is ridiculous.
"Replacing him with costly 'upgrades' is bound to backfire, and the gap to the big earners needs sorting."
Alufert adds: "He's on a lot of money, but nowhere near the level most of the rest are on. And he's stated that he's happy to see out the remainder of his contract on that money.
"If it really was all about the money, he'd be packing his bags to Saudi as we speak."
Others would have preferred not to have heard what Diaz had to say. Mainstand2 writes: "'Talking to other clubs'? Well time to move on then, mate, no time for anybody who isn't fully committed to the club."
Allseeingis says: "If he's talking to other clubs... then bye. Let him go to a victory parade at Al-Hilal with 150 people involved. He's not irreplaceable and is not honouring his contract."
SMUDGE72 writes: "Sell him no, or risk another [Trent] Alexander-Arnold fiasco. He has said enough - he's basically saying pay me a fortune or I'm going on a free. He's not that good, come Christmas he does nothing."
Cyclingcylon says: "Disappointing from Lucho, this. All footballers are the same, out for themselves and they see a club as an ends to a means.
"If Lucho isn't 100 per cent dedicated to the club, prefers to be elsewhere and not here then, there's the exit door, you're going through it on our terms and we'll rinse Barcelona for another £100m-plus."
