Suffolk star Fabio Wardley beat Justis Huni by an incredible one punch knockout in the tenth round at Portman Road tonight, having been miles behind on the scorecards.

Wardley was probably 8-1 down on the cards going into the tenth round, with Huni boxing beautifully and cruising to a win, before he found a huge right hand to drop the Aussie and finish the fight in sensational fashion.

It was an extraordinary finish to a fight that felt like it was running away from the hometown hero, as Huni repeatedly tagged him with his rapid jab and found a home for the left hook to the head and the body.

But no-one could have predicted what was to come, as he detonated a nuclear overhand right on Huni's chin as the Australian walked in, dropping him heavily as the crowd at Portman Road - who had been a little subdued - went crazy.

Huni got back to one knee, but couldn't beat the count.

The thousands packed into Portman Road erupted, as an apparently exhausted Wardley raised his hands to the skies and saluted his fans.

The win sees him lift the WBA interim world heavyweight title, with promoter Frank Warren saying afterwards that Wardley is in line for a full world title shot.

The night started with heavy rain, which fell in spells throughout the event.

But no amount of precipitation could dampen the incredible ending to the night, as Wardley's remarkable story continues.
