For large periods, it looked as if Manchester United were the only club in the conversation for current Brentford player Bryan Mbeumo.
This is because of the attacker’s intention to join Manchester United whilst subsequently snubbing other clubs such as Newcastle United.
Now, it has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur could be the latest club to try and interrupt the transfer of the Cameroon from the Bees to United.
United initially sent a first bid to Brentford although this was rejected by the Bees. Now, with a second bid on the horizon, this deal looked to have been creeping towards the finish line as personal terms were expected to not be an issue.
Bryan Mbuemo has been a prolific attacker during the 2024-25 season scoring 20 goals whilst also assisting on 7 occasions in a season which saw the Bees finish 10th in the Premier League.
This has led to several clubs targeting the attacker as part of their summer recruitment strategies as clubs get prepared for their upcoming pre-season schedules and the 2025-26 season.
This also comes at a time where United are aiming to recruit in the right areas in their preparation for pre-season.
This has come through the signing of Matheus Cunha and the targeting of many other targets such as Viktor Gyokeres.
However, for this to happen, United will also have to make several sales which have also been rumoured.
This has come through the seemingly inevitable departure of Rasmus Hojlund as well as the rumoured departure of Marcus Rashford.
With Manchester United having to improve in several areas such as in attack and in defence, the Red Devils are having to make sure that they spend effectively as they prepare for the 2025-26 season, a season in which they will aim to improve.
