Arsenal's summer of spending is beginning to gain traction with one important deal in the bag, and more set to be on the way.
Not only will the Gunners require new additions to make sure they are up for a Premier League title challenge, they will also require stability.
That's why sporting director Andrea Berta's quick movement to get central defender Gabriel Magalhaes tied down to a new four-year contract is of vast importance looking ahead to the future.
Arsenal have also narrowed down their primary choice of striker, looking to strike a deal with RB Leipzig for the talented Benjamin Sesko, and football.london understands the club are, also, trying to finalise goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga's arrival from rivals Chelsea.
The 30-year-old has a £5m release to simplify the move, and would enter hoping to fight David Raya for his spot.
All is looking well in north London, now football.london analyses the latest transfer headlines circling Arsenal as even more business looks to be on the way;
Four more contract upgrades planned
After that early-summer triumph - in tying down Gabriel - Berta has his sights on securing the futures of four more first-team stars within Mikel Arteta's ranks.
Namedropped in that regarded by The Mirror are Bukayo Saka, 23, and William Saliba, 24.
The winger and central defender both have existing deals set to expire in 2027 - two years from now - so it's of the utmost priority to keep that at Arsenal. If deals cannot be struck then a serious question may have to be asked next summer, or the following year they would be leaving for free.
Saka would not be short of suitors, but he's not been part of any such speculation as of yet - while Real Madrid are said to have their eye on Saliba. Still, the Gunners remain confident of keeping both.
Following on, youngsters Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are also in line for new deals with wages to reflect their increased stature within the squad.
football.london says: If Arsenal can pull all four of these deals off - on top of the one managed with Gabriel this summer - then it will be some of the best business they can do this period. Still, the focus must be on recruiting a striker and can't let these come as distractions. At least get the groundwork in over the summer, while bringing in fresh faces, then finalise internal dealings once the new season is underway.
Arsenal get Zubimendi transfer update
Martin Zubimendi remains in line to join the Gunners, according to multiple reports, but he's currently waiting to feature in Spain's UEFA Nations League final instead of finalising the transfer.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid continue to be linked with a hijack of the deal, worryingly for Arsenal.
But in a welcome boost, Spanish publication e-noticies states that the La Liga giants will actually take a different direction. They say the club's chief scout, Juni Calafat, has instead identified PSV Eindhoven's Joey Veerman as his ideal midfield signing for a rather cost-effective €25m (£21m).
football.london says: Understandably, the longer Zubimendi's transfer saga has dragged out the more tensions have risen. Long before this summer, it was reported as a 'done thing', so to be eight days into June with nothing confirmed seems strange. But as stated, he's off on international duty - so long as there is no injury then all is well and calmness can be urged.
