Manchester United are working around the clock as and key figures behind-the-scenes get stuck into a much-needed rebuild. A deal for has already been agreed - .

If that follow-up pursuit gets over the line, the Old Trafford giants will have splashed out £120million plus on two attacking additions. However, there are other areas that need to be strengthened, too.

A replacement for Andre Onana between the posts has been mooted, while Liam Delap side-stepped a move to United as he signed for Chelsea instead. As such, there are plans in place to sign a new striker amid concerns over Joshua Zirkzee and Inter Milan-linked Rasmus Holjund in that position.

Here, we take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours, offering up our own take on those snippets;

United linked with £50m Amorim reunion

United have reportedly revived their interest in Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande; a player already well-known to Amorim. Portuguese outlet A Bola flags up the centre-back as a potential target.

Despite allowing Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans to leave as free agents this summer, United are well-stocked at the back - with Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Ayden Heaven to call upon, not to mention the versatile Noussair Mazraoui.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be interested. A fee around £50million is claimed to be realistic.

The Manchester Evening News says: "Not for me. United desperately need recruits, all over the pitch, but perhaps the one area they should be happy with - or at least content - is their options at centre-back. If they want to cash-in to make room in the squad, so be it, but a defensive swoop should be the last thing on their minds."

Messi pushing for Inter Miami to sign Rojo

Lionel Messi is pushing for Inter Miami to sign former-United defender Marcos Rojo - according to reports.

Inter Miami, who are co-owned by United icon David Beckham - fresh from his impending knighthood - have been active in the transfer market over recent months and years to sign some eye-catching names such as Messi himself.

Rojo, now 35, made 122 appearances for United all-told. He currently plays for Boca Juniors.

However, an article from TNT Sports Argentina reckons he could now be set for a move Stateside this summer.

The Manchester Evening News says: "Rojo is heading towards the twilight of his career now, and the MLS is home to countless players in that particular bracket. A player who divided opinion at Old Trafford, he will at least add yet another United link to the part-Beckham-owned franchise. It's certainly not a head-scratcher."
