Wrexham may not have signed anybody in the early stages of the summer transfer window, but the rumour mill just won’t stop churning.
Much is expected of Wrexham in this summer transfer window as Phil Parkinson prepares his squad for the Championship.
Reports in May suggested that Wrexham would be splashing the cash this summer to keep the journey under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds going in the right direction.
No deals have been struck just yet, but some interesting – and some rather nonsensical – rumours have emerged.
A fascinating one from just a few days ago linked Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Tommy Doyle with a move to Wrexham.
Wolves are reportedly ready to sell Doyle for just £3million, with Wrexham allegedly rivalling Sunderland and Sheffield United for his signature.

Don Goodman on Tommy Doyle to Wrexham
Wrexham may have been linked with a host of players over the age of 30, but Doyle is just 23 and still has bags of potential.
The former Manchester City talent has played 50 Premier League games for Wolves and, quite frankly, £3million seems far too cheap.
MORE WREXHAM STORIES
Doyle’s composure on the ball and his set-piece ability will appeal to Parkinson, and EFL pundit Don Goodman has praised the rumoured interest.
Speaking to Football League World, Goodman admitted loving hearing of Wrexham’s interest in Doyle purely because he is used to seeing older players being linked.
Goodman feels Doyle has ‘a lot of top football’ ahead of him in the coming years, believing that he is an ‘excellent’ midfielder.
Goodman added that Doyle works ‘very, very hard’ for the team and is a simply ‘ideal’ target for Parkinson this summer.
“This is a pleasing connection, really, Tommy Doyle and Wrexham, from a Wrexham perspective,” said Goodman.
“Because all I’ve seen most of the time is Wrexham linked with players, with the greatest of respects, that are towards the very, very back end of their careers. Whereas this lad, Tommy Doyle, has got a lot of top football ahead of him.
“I think he’s an excellent player, ball-playing midfielder who works very, very hard, a team player and an ideal type of player for Wrexham to be recruiting,” he added.
Wrexham could sign another Wolves player
If Wrexham can secure a deal for Doyle, he may end up reuniting with a former Wolves teammate at the STōK Cae Ras.
Wrexham are interested in Craig Dawson, who played alongside Doyle at Molineux.
Wolves have confirmed Dawson’s exit on a free transfer, with his contract coming to an end later this month.
Dawson has been frozen out at Wolves since the end of the January transfer window and his departure is no great surprise.
The veteran centre-back would bring real experience to Wrexham’s backline and his status as a free agent will be very appealing.
Dawson may be a more likely signing purely because of the Premier League interest in Doyle, but don’t rule out both arriving at Wrexham this summer.
