Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr are interested in signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, with Liverpool star Luis Diaz poised to stay, according to Mirror.
Al Nassr are prepared to part ways with Sadio Mane this summer, and they have identified Diaz as a potential replacement. However, the club are aware of Liverpool’s intention to keep him next season.
This was conveyed to Barcelona when they made an enquiry. Al Nassr are now exploring the possibility of offering Garnacho the chance to link up with his boyhood hero Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al Nassr would have no problem in meeting United’s asking price for the 20-year-old. The prospect of playing alongside Ronaldo would be a ‘huge draw’ for Garnacho, as per Mirror.
Garnacho unlikely to contemplate move to Saudi
The Argentine had a good season with the Red Devils despite his inconsistent displays. He accumulated 21 goal contributions from 58 appearances across all competitions.
However, he was only a substitute in the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. He was left out of the matchday squad for the final Premier League game against Aston Villa.
Manager Ruben Amorim has told Garnacho to find a new club, as per David Ornstein. The same has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The winger has interest from three English clubs.
In our view, Garnacho may not contemplate a move to Saudi to play with Ronaldo at the current phase of his career. He will want to build his reputation at the highest level, potentially in England.
United may prefer to sell their prized asset to a foreign club. Bayer Leverkusen and probably Napoli, who were interested in signing him last winter, could be the most lucrative destinations.
The Red Devils want £60 million to part ways with their graduate. There is a good possibility that Garnacho may end up with a league rival due to the high transfer fee and salary demands.
