Liverpool's busy summer transfer window continues to gain momentum, with the Reds already completing more deals than they did last year.

Jeremie Frimpong has already made his £30million move from Bayer Leverkusen. And they're also on the brink of sealing a deal with Bournemouth for left-back Milos Kerkez. The Liverpool hierarchy are hopeful that their most significant acquisition this window will be Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen.

Two bids for the German playmaker were turned down earlier in the week, but Liverpool have now come back with another record-breaking bid. As negotiations with Leverkusen continue, Arne Slot is exploring other potential signings.

Following Caoimhin Kelleher's move to Brentford, Liverpool are seeking to bolster their goalkeeping ranks. Slot is also eager to strengthen his defensive line-up, with Liverpool now part of a five-team pursuit for a Sporting Lisbon star.

Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Liverpool transfer news.

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Sporting Lisbon's Ousmane Diomande. The Ivorian was instrumental in Sporting's Portuguese double victory this season, but his contract is set to expire in two years.

This has piqued the interest of several top clubs, including Liverpool. According to A Bola, the Reds are vying with Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich for the defender's signature.

All five clubs are reportedly keeping a close eye on Diomande's situation. Palace have reached out to Sporting regarding a potential transfer, with the Portuguese outfit demanding around £50million.

Following Jeremie Frimpong's move to Anfield last week, he will be joined by Hungary Under-21 goalkeeper Armin Pecsi.

The Reds announced that the 20-year-old has finalised his move to Anfield after completing a medical at the AXA Training Centre.

Pecsi joins Liverpool from Hungarian top-flight side Puskas Akademia, where they finished second in the league as he played more than 30 times. He was also nominated for the 2025 Golden Boy award.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool are prepared to pay £100m upfront for the young talent, with an additional £13m in add-ons, bringing the total package to £113m. This would set a new transfer record for the Merseyside club.

Leverkusen have set a hefty £126.4m asking price for Wirtz, however, Liverpool reportedly have 'no intention' of shelling out that much. The German club are eager to offload him this summer and it's said that Wirtz has already made trips to England for house hunting.
