Fabrizio Romano makes 'it's over' verdict for Man Utd star as Liverpool 'favourite' backed for new contract

A dive into some of the latest Premier League transfer rumours this week.

Premier League clubs are getting stuck straight into the summer transfer action and it’s still only early on in the window.

Based on what we’ve seen so far and the rising amount of rumours, we can expect mega money to change hands as exciting new deals are confirmed ahead of what promises to be another rollercoaster season in England’s top flight.

As discussions behind the scenes continue, we’ve taken a look at some of the latest eye-catching transfer rumours and reports in the Premier League.

Alejandro Garnacho to leave Man United

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the transfer expert has said ‘it’s over’ for the Brazilian at Old Trafford.

“I wanted to confirm something I already said a month ago, Alejandro Garnacho will leave Manchester United,” Romano said. “The decision is made, not only on Ruben Amorim’s side but also on management’s side. It’s time to part ways, it’s over, they are already looking for solutions.”

Interest from Germany, Italy and the Premier League has risen, with latter clubs ‘pushing’ to try and sign Garnacho this summer. Romano has revealed that there is a ‘strong possibility’ fans will see the forward remain in the Premier League next season but with another club.

The 3AM Verdict: Bayer Leverkusen are said to be interested in Garnacho, along with three Premier League clubs. Those in England’s top flight will likely have a better chance of matching the price tag United are looking for.CaughtOffside has reported that he could be available for €55 million (£46m), which would allow United to reinvest the cash into their squad transformation. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a new look, following two hugely disappointing Premier League seasons.

Liverpool backed to offer ‘Arne Slot favourite’ bumper new deal

Liverpool are working their way through a busy and interesting summer transfer window. With Jeremie Frimpong over the line and others expected to follow, the Reds aren’t messing about when it comes to their title defence.

The champions are also looking at offering new deals to existing players and Cody Gakpo is one of them Amid interest shown by Bayern Munich, Liverpool could respond by offering him a bumper new deal to further extend his stay at Anfield.

According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, the Reds are ‘more likely’ to offer Gakpo a new contract than they are to entertain the thought of him leaving.

“I’d be very surprised if Liverpool would even entertain any offers for Cody Gakpo,” O’Rourke said. “Gakpo is a big favourite of Arne Slot and did a really good job last season. He got 18 goals and seven assists in all competitions, and at 26, I think he’s coming to the peak of his career.

“We’ve seen what he can do for Liverpool on a regular basis – I don’t think that Liverpool would even consider selling him to Bayern. The most likely scenario might be that Gakpo gets a new contract at Liverpool.

“It’s more likely that Liverpool will look to keep Gakpo rather than even consider selling him, despite these links with Bayern Munich.”

The 3AM Verdict: Luis Diaz is on the radar of Barcelona and Saudi Arabia clubs, and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will sign off on a sale this summer or not. If they do, they will need someone they can rely on, and Gakpo has been enjoying his football with Liverpool lately. With 18 goals this season, all from the left-wing role and often helping change the narrative of a game, Gakpo has shown how important he is to Liverpool and they will benefit from keeping him at the club moving into next season and beyond.
