The Houston Rockets overachieved last season but there’s a chance that the core they have will be broken up by next season. And so, they are looking at the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

However, it is not just the Greek Freak they want. They might also want to have Brook Lopez who was on their radar before the start of last season.
The Athletic’s Kelly Ico wrote that the Rockets might re-open their chase of the veteran big man in case Steven Adams embrace the free agency and go elsewhere. He wrote:
If Adams leaves, team sources said the Rockets could reignite their interest in Brook Lopez. The 37-year-old, who averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game shooting 37 percent from 3 in Milwaukee last season, was previously a target for Houston and would theoretically be a fit, given his two-way production and health (played 237 games over the last three seasons). Houston is also anticipating conversations with Boston’s front office, with the assumption that the Celtics, who are in salary-reduction mode, will canvass the league looking to offload contracts.

Adams was a key player in the team’s first round match up with the Golden State Warriors. If ever he leaves, the only big man that will be left on the team is Alperen Sengun.
Giannis Antetokounmpo interest by Rockets
There’s no details though if Rockets will target both Antetokounmpo and Lopez.
The latest about the Western team’s interest on the Greek Freak is negative, at least on their part.
Rockets are now thinking twice about going all in for Antetokounmpo believing they will pay a high price.

“Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo remains a target, team sources said,” Ico said in a separate piece.
“But there has been recent uncertainty in the past week on Antetokounmpo’s actual availability — not to mention the potential asking price Milwaukee would require.”
