Atletico Madrid could be set for a summer swoop at West Ham.
The LaLiga giants could be set to steal a star from the Hammers as the transfer window looms at the London Stadium.
It is fair to say that Graham Potter will be fearing interest from Diego Simeone’s side as he looks to build a side in his image ahead of the Premier League campaign.
With that being said, the Englishman may have little say on any deal if Atletico come knocking in East London this summer.

Looking ahead to the new season, the ex-Brighton head coach will be keen to get his ideas across and have a much better season than last time out.

The 50-year-old failed to truly turn things around in E20 after coming in to replace the failing Julen Lopetegui.
It appears that Potter is going to be given the opportunity to put his stamp on the Irons in the upcoming window, with incoming and outgoing deals likely to be present.
Although no deals have yet been agreed at the London Stadium, an exit could now be on the cards as the Spanish outfit comes knocking.
This has seen AS report (8 June, page 18) that Atletico Madrid have probed the potential signing of Hammers defender Nayef Aguerd.
The 29-year-old had a terrific loan spell at Real Sociedad, who are keen to keep the defender, with Atleti, Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen also interested in his signature.

There is “great competition” over the signature of the Moroccan international who looks destined for an East London departure.

When loaning out a big-name signing, there is always hope that they can rejuvenate their career and become a positive asset for next season.
That has certainly been the case for the former Rennes man, but his success in LaLiga looks set to go against the Irons this summer.
Aguerd doesn’t want to return to West Ham, who will now be keen to make the most of interest to bring in a positive fee after spending £30m on him in 2022.
This will see attention turn to new defensive additions for Potter in E20 after already confirming the permanent addition of Jean-Clair Todibo.
