Nottingham Forest are going to be in search of a number of players this summer, with European football on the horizon for next season.
Forest qualified for the UEFA Conference League with a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League, and it means European nights will be taking place for the first time in 30 years.
Anthony Elanga has been linked with Newcastle over the weekend. Forest will hope to keep hold of their better players, however, with zero pressure on the club to make a sale.
Forest will understand their position in the food chain, however. If a bigger club comes in and offers top whack for the squad’s better players, Evangelos Marinakis will have to consider things.
That said, emphasis will be placed on the Reds kicking up the Premier League next season and with European games to come, a bigger squad will be needed to cope with the extra demands.

Nottingham Forest want Borja Sainz
The Reds are definitely in the market for new wingers during this summer’s fun and frolics of the transfer window, with Norwich star Sainz now firmly on the club’s shortlist.
According to Sport FM, Sainz is now a potential signing for Forest this summer. It’s believed that the Reds are now in the mix alongside Olympiacos, Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao and Napoli.
Sainz has been a star performer for the Canaries since checking in at the club from Giresunspor back in 2023. He’s on the back of a season which saw him bag 19 goals and claim four assists, with the left-winger now a wanted man.

The 24-year-old looks almost certain to leave Norwich this summer. However, Norwich are keen to recoup £17 million for their top player and a bidding war is perhaps what they’ll hold out for.
Sainz could be ideal Forest signing
The Spanish performer is a Basque player and that does make him attractive to Bilbao. However, they may have bigger fish to fry this summer and that could see a door swing open for Forest to pounce.
Carlton Palmer called Sainz ‘fantastic’ for his efforts last season. With 19 goals from a wide position, it’s only natural that he’s receiving vast interest even if the performances have come in the second tier.
Forest have Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi in their ranks as the first-choice wide options. However, the challenge is to upgrade the strength in depth with Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa both linked with the Forest exit.
