Struggles so far.
Rasmus Hojlund joined Manchester United back in the summer of 2022 from Italian side, Atalanta, for a reported £72 million on a 5-year deal with an option to extend.
The young striker has struggled since his arrival at Manchester United – he has only managed to score 14 goals across two Premier League campaigns – four of which came last season, which saw United finish the season sat in 15th place. This has left Ruben Amorim no choice but to hunt for a new striker.
Manchester United have already bolstered their attack in the current transfer window signing Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, from Wolves. With multiple bids having already been submitted for Brentford’s top-scorer, Bryan Mbeumo, it is clear that Ruben Amorim is unhappy with his forward line.

However, according to Bold, Rasmus Hojlund has been speaking on his United future in a recent press conference.

“I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United until 2030. I expect to play there, so I’m just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good preseason.”
Whats Next?
No doubt Manchester United will be hoping they can off-load Rasmus Hojlund, to secure extra funds, which will support them in the pursuits of their top targets.
With United already looking to replace Hojlund, it is surprising to see the striker still speaking about his expectations to play at Old Trafford next season. However, it is positive to see he has full faith in Ruben Amorim’s project, wanting to do all he can to help the team get back to winning ways.
Manchester United are still in the market for a new number 9, with Victor Gyokeres, Johnathan David and Moise Kean all being mentioned in the same breath to replace Rasmus Hojlund.
Ruben Amorim will be hoping he can secure a top class goal scorer who can provide his team with more than four Premier League goals.
