‘I like him but…’: Vitor Pereira reveals how Goncalo Guedes truly feels about staying at Wolves …

Goncalo Guedes is one player whose future at Wolves is in jeopardy amid the summer transfer window.

Since Guedes’ arrival in 2022, there’s always been a feeling that the player is leaving a lot to be desired.

The versatile forward signed for Wolves from Valencia, but has since only made 51 appearances in Old Gold, embarking on three loan spells.

It’s abundantly clear that the player isn’t happy at Wolves, and fans aren’t convinced about Guedes either, with all roads leading to the 28-year-old’s exit.

Vitor Pereira makes Goncalo Guedes revelation

Players often struggle in the Premier League after coming from overseas, which isn’t a problem; however, what is an issue is a lack of effort.

Guedes’ attitude has been slammed several times since his transfer to Molineux, with manager Vitor Pereira now sharing why that may be.

Speaking to Portuguese outlet Record, the Wolves manager revealed that he’s ‘not sure’ about Guedes’ future, suggesting that the player isn’t particularly happy at the club.

“I’m not sure about Gonçalo Guedes either, because he has a contract with us, I like him, but he’s been there for a few years and has this ambition to leave.”

Pereira went on to share that the Portuguese forward wants to leave because of the time he’s been on Wolves’ books.

“[It’s] mainly because he’s been there for a few years… Let’s see if it’s possible or not.”

Though Guedes has been a Wolves player for almost three years, it’s puzzling to learn that the attacker wants to leave because of this, given that he’s been on the move ever since he set foot in the West Midlands.

Wolves need to cash in on Guedes

Guedes departed Molineux for his first loan spell just five months after signing his permanent contract.

The 28-year-old wasn’t happy then, and such hasn’t changed, which must prompt Wolves to finally cash in on the failed transfer.

Though there’s a belief that Guedes could be a useful squad player at Wolves, there’s no place at the club for players who don’t want to be there, particularly ones that make their feelings known both on and off the pitch.

The future is uncertain for Guedes regarding his next club, but surely, the forward has already played his last game for Wolves.
