Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of a £50m "pure difference-maker", with journalist Ben Jacobs revealing he has now "informed" his club he wants to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Blues looking to bolster attack ahead of Club World Cup
The new-look Club World Cup is less than a week away, and with the transfer window open until June 10th, the Blues are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of jetting out to the USA.
Enzo Maresca's side have already managed to get a striker through the door, with Liam Delap arriving from Ipswich Town, but there have been recent indications they could look to bring in another new centre-forward, alongside a winger and a playmaker.
The Blues have stepped up their pursuit of Gittens in recent days, and Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that it may not be long before they are able to get a deal over the line, with a new bid expected soon.
Should the west Londoners submit a satisfactory offer for the left-winger, who is reportedly valued at £50m, it shouldn't be too difficult to get the move over the line, with Jacobs revealing on X that he has now "informed" Dortmund that he "wants to join Chelsea".
The German club are also "keen" to sell, suggesting a move could be imminent, although while signing a new left-winger is a priority for the Blues before the Club World Cup, June 10th isn't thought to be a hard deadline.

Gittens could be a "pure difference-maker" for Chelsea
The English winger has proven himself to be a constant threat on the front foot for Dortmund over the past year, notably placing in the top 1% for successful take-ons per 90, and the 85th percentile for non-penalty goals per 90, when compared to his positional peers in Europe.
Not only that, but football talent scout Jacek Kulig was left impressed by an eye-catching performance against Club Brugge in the Champions League last September, lauding the Dortmund star as a "pure difference-maker".

A record of 12 goals and five assists in all competitions last season is solid, considering the London-born youngster is still only 20-years-old, and it is exciting news that a deal is now edging closer.
With Chelsea choosing not to sign Jadon Sancho on a permanent basis, it makes sense to bring in an exciting young left-winger this summer, and they will be hoping to get a deal done before the June 10th deadline, ahead of the Club World Cup opener against Club Leon.
