Even if Old Trafford is preparing for change, Manchester United’s summer renovation under Ruben Amorim is starting to take shape.

There has been increasing conjecture over the return of former United players in coaching or development positions as INEOS has restructured the team’s backroom staff and sporting organisation.

One former name who departed from Old Trafford this season was Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

In the summer, the former Dutch international joined United as a member of Erik ten Hag’s new coaching staff. But after ten Hag was fired, van Nistelrooy was chosen to take over as team captain temporarily.

His tenure as temporary manager has been tremendously successful; he resigned following a four-game winning streak.

Van Nistelrooy improved the team’s performance throughout this time, leading to three victories, a tie, and 11 goals.

The Dutch coach joined Leicester City shortly after.

He replaced Steve Coogan who was sacked after their 2-1 loss to former manager Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.

Unfortunately, Leicester City got relegated and the club decided to part ways with the Dutch manager as he now looks for a new job.

However, Van Nistelrooy isn’t the only ex-Manchester United coach to be looking for a new coaching role elsewhere.

As per TalkSport, if Thomas Frank leaves for Spurs, Kieran McKenna is on their list of possible replacement coaches.

Many top-flight managers highly regard McKenna as a coach, even if Ipswich was relegated from the Premier League this season.

When Chelsea and Brighton were looking for new managers last summer, they approached the 39-year-old Northern Irishman.

That happened after he played thrilling and expansive attacking football, leading the Tractor Boys to a second-place finish in the Championship and a promotion to the Premier League, where they finished the season as the league’s top-scoring team.
