Tino Livramento is set to shut out any transfer noise surrounding him at present as he heads to the Under-21 European Championships with England amid interest from Manchester City. The full-back is part of Lee Carsley's squad for the Slovakian showpiece, with England's youngsters taking on the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovenia in their group stage fixtures.

Livramento is currently part of Lee Carsley's travelling contingent heading across the continent, with the U21 tournament kicking off on Wednesday June 11. England's first fixture will take place one day later, against Czechia, at 8pm.

Meanwhile, back at home, Newcastle United have rebuffed interest from City, as reported by Chronicle Live earlier this weekend. This comes after initial approaches were made via intermediaries as Pep Guardiola's side sniff out whether a deal can be done.

Eddie Howe is desperate to keep hold of his best players and is in no mood to lose Livramento, 21, who has been one of the Magpies' most consistent players in recent seasons. Filling in at left-back in place of Lewis Hall in recent months has only reaffirmed the player's importance inside the St James' Park dressing room.

Livramento is seen at the long-term heir to Kieran Trippier at Newcastle and a future, senior England star. The defender has already experienced a taste of pulling on a Three Lions' shirt after being called upon by Carsley during his time as the national side's interim boss and is hungry for more.

“Obviously with Lee getting called up to be the seniors’ manager, I’ve seen it as a good opportunity for me because obviously, I knew him," Livramento said in 2024. “But I think it’s down to you as a player with how you play every weekend for your club.

"I think that’s the main thing. I feel like I’ve started this season alright, so this is a good opportunity for me.”

For now, Livramento will have to settle for being one of the more experienced figures in the under-21 setup. In the coming weeks he will be featuring alongside some top English talent, including Jarell Quansah (Liverpool), Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Jobe Bellingham (Sunderland), Archie Gray (Tottenham Hotspur), Harvey Elliott (Liverpool), James McAtee (Manchester City) and Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal).
