According to Christian Falk via X, Borussia Dortmund have rejected Chelsea F.C’s first bid for Jamie Gittens of £35.5 million.
The German club are demanding close to £59 million for the English winger.
Chelsea are currently preparing the next offer, as they want to sign Gittens for the Club World Cup before the transfer deadline on June 10 for the tournament.
The £50 million England Under-21 international has become a top target for Chelsea as they try to bolster their roster with a left winger with a right foot.
Jamie Gittens, a former member of Chelsea’s academy, is viewed as a long-term answer rather than a temporary addition and fits the club’s youth-first philosophy.
A move for Gittens further confirms Jadon Sancho’s exile from Chelsea F.C with a return to Manchester United now expected until the Red Devils find a suitor for him.
