“The Only Ones Out Here After Practice”

“The Only Ones Out Here After Practice”

June 8th, 2025

Work ethic.

Joe was very happy to see this video. But once it ended, a question arose.

Good guy Brian Baldinger was out at a Bucs OTA practice this week. He wasn’t there when it was open to media (which is when prickly Pete Prisco of CBS showed up). But hey, when you work for NFL Network, certain doors open for you that normally would be shut to others.

In a video Baldinger cut and uploaded to Twitter (currently known as “X”), he showed rookies Emeka Egbuka and Benjamin Morrison working with the JUGS machines after practice.

Baldinger noted he likes the Bucs rookies and thinks they will be a fine addition. And yeah, Joe liked seeing both a No. 1 pick of a receiver and a No. 2 pick of a corner coming back from hip surgery trying to make themselves better.

Good work ethic.

Then Baldinger noted they were the only players after practice working on the JUGS machine. The first thing Joe thought, “Other rookies don’t want to improve?”

But Joe has to be fair. It’s unknown what Baldinger didn’t record. Joe can’t remember a practice where several players weren’t working on the JUGS machines (offense and defense) after it ended. Antoine Winfield is a regular on the JUGS.

Yeah, it’s great to see Egbuka and Morrison getting extra work, but Joe has a hunch there were others.

It’s very possible Baldinger was talking to coaches or Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht after practice and the last two guys on the JUGS were Egbuka and Morrison.

(Anyone see how Licht and Bucs assistant general manager Mike Biehl were with James Hetfield backstage at Friday night’s Metallica concert?)
