Newcastle United have made their moves to sign both Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro during this summer’s transfer window.
It promises to be a big summer for Newcastle United.
Unable to sign any real first-team players since the summer of 2023, Eddie Howe could be set to welcome some new stars into the squad over the coming weeks and months. Owners PIF are now in a position to spend.
Indeed, Elanga and Pedro are both targets. Newcastle have enquired about Elanga, who they tried to sign from Nottingham Forest last summer too.
Newcastle may have to pay £70million to sign Pedro, with Brighton refusing to let the Brazilian go cheaply.
Now, Craig Hope has provided an update on the pursuit of both players.

Newcastle United make moves to sign Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro
On Sunday, The Daily Mail reporter revealed on social media platform X that Newcastle have now made an enquiry for Pedro as they accelerate their interest in both players.
Hope, however, also adds that Chelsea are in the mix for the Brighton forward. The Blues have just beaten Newcastle to the signing of Liam Delap, of course.

He also spoke of Newcastle’s move to sign Elanga, though stressed that the numbers involved could be “big”.
How many signings Eddie Howe wants at Newcastle United
Howe wants Newcastle to make four signings this summer as the club prepare for next season’s Champions League campaign.
A goalkeeper, a winger, a forward and a new central defender are all on the radar.
With that in mind, moves for Pedro and Elanga would provide the Newcastle United manager with half of the transfers he wants this summer.
Clearly, there’s still a long way to go before actually signing either of them but making moves to sign players from rival Premier League clubs is at least a statement of their intent.
The idea of Pedro and Elanga strengthening a frontline already containing the likes of Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy is seriously exciting indeed.
