According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Booker is expected to sign a two-year, $150 million contract extension with the Suns, for which he becomes eligible on July 6. The deal would pay him a staggering $75 million per year — the highest annual salary in NBA history.
Booker is currently entering the second year of his four-year deal with the Suns, worth $220 million, and the new extension should keep him in Phoenix through at least the end of the 2029–30 season.
The 28-year-old Booker is considered the franchise's cornerstone and the only untouchable for the Suns going forward. Next year will mark his 11th season with the Suns.
In his 10 years with the team, Booker has managed to reach the NBA Finals once, in 2021, and individually he has made four All-Star selections and has been named to the All-NBA team twice.
This season, Booker averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds, while the Suns failed to make the postseason, finishing 11th in the Western Conference.
