'Time to schedule medicals': Journalist shares the only thing left to sort out with Milos Kerkez and Liverpool

It is set to be a big few days for Liverpool in the transfer market as they aim to complete two big arrivals.

The Reds have been expected to be busy this summer as they aim to build on a sensational first season under Arne Slot.

After the ultra-quick signing of Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool have been pushing hard to wrap up key deals for both Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.

Fans have become frustrated in recent days, with little progress being made on either Wirtz or Kerkez.

However, a breakthrough looks to have been made on Wirtz. The German is reportedly set to finalise a move following his country’s match against France on Sunday.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Kerkez has left the Hungary camp ahead of their match against Azerbaijan on Tuesday. As things move in the right direction for Liverpool, it has been revealed what the hold-up has been in terms of signing the left-back.

Liverpool sorting ‘fine tuning’ of Milos Kerkez deal

Kerkez joining Liverpool has been an open secret throughout the last portion of the Premier League season.

However, although a deal should not have been all that difficult to complete between sporting director Richard Hughes and his former club, things have begun to drag a little.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, though, an agreement is almost there.

Taking to X on Sunday morning, the reporter claimed that the ‘final fine-tuning’ is all that is left to get Kerkez over the line, with negotiation over the structure of bonuses being the final hurdle.

“Liverpool and Bournemouth are close to finalising the last details for Milos Kerkez, with talks in recent days focused on bonus structure – as revealed,” says Galetti.

“Just the final fine-tuning left: then it’ll be time to schedule medicals and move to signatures.”

Will Kerkez be done before Tuesday?

If there is a slight rush on the front of Wirtz and Kerkez, it is only because the first deadline of the summer window arrives on Tuesday night.

The Reds would probably have liked to sort both transfers out, along with Frimpong, before it closed.

Nevertheless, there is still a long summer ahead and regardless of whether the pair become Liverpool players in the next two days, it feels virtually certain that they eventually will.

For Kerkez, the fact that he left the Hungary camp is certainly a positive, although the final details can sometimes be the trickiest to iron out. The 21-year-old could still arrive before Tuesday, but things might just have gotten a little too tight.
