Come and buy me: Leeds United man wishes to stop rotting away at Elland Road amid confirmed…

Leeds United centre-back Max Wöber has now openly stated that the club intend to sell him this summer ahead of a return to the Premier League.

Those who left the club on loan after relegation have seen their relationships with the fanbase largely tarnished, with one of the only exceptions being Brenden Aaronson, winning sections of the populous over with sheer endeavour.

His fellow returnee Max Wöber didn’t enjoy the same redemption in 24/25, having left in much more bitter circumstances, and then played rarely in the title winning campaign.

Max Wöber states that Leeds United intend to sell this summer

This summer was always going to be one of uncertainty for Wöber, given that he was fourth-choice at centre-back for Leeds in the Championship, and could now see his position weaker in the top flight.

Daniel Farke is not likely to hold a great deal of trust in the Austrian after he ditched pre-season to head to the German’s former employers Borussia Monchengladbach, and it appears as though Farke and the 49ers have already told Wöber what the plan is this summer.

Following a World Cup qualifying campaign victory against Romania, Wöber made a bold statement post-match.

“Leeds has already made it clear to me that they want to sell me,” Wober said to Krone. “I might have been able to send out a letter of application [with his display against Romania].

“It was simply a good feeling to be back on the pitch and show that I can still play well, and that I definitely deserve to be here.

“I was extremely pleased that I was able to show other clubs that I’m fit, that I’m still a really good player, and that I don’t want to just rot away in England.”

Wöber joined Leeds from Red Bull Salzburg for a reported £11million fee in January 2023 on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

In PSR terms, the centre-back’s book value stands at an estimated £4.9million, meaning any fee above that could generate profit for Leeds to utilise in boosting their transfer expenditure further.

Max Wöber needs to leave Leeds United, and no one will be that fussed

Aside from standout performances against Derby County and Middlesbrough back in December at left-back, there was virtually nothing of note that Wöber contributed to this season.

Of course, his knee injuries and constant setbacks gave him no chance to redeem himself, but the Leeds fans have not been in a mood to forgive him at all.

When he does leave, he won’t be one that’s remembered fondly, and it’s clear he couldn’t wait to leave, so it’s only fair that the club can’t wait to sell him for profit.
