Sir Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen on stage at Anfield
It has been an incredible week for Liverpool as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band took to the stage at Anfield Stadium for two nights.
The Boss' first ever Liverpool shows were on June 4 and yesterday, June 7, as part of his The Land of Hope and Dreams tour. Known for hits including Born in the USA and Dancing In The Dark, the New Jersey-born singer is renowned for his legendary live shows and huge catalogue of songs, from his incredible six decade career.
In-between shows, Springsteen was joined by Sir Paul McCartney for an incredibly special visit to Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) and E-Street band guitarist Steven Van Zandt was also pictured arriving at the school. This led to speculation that the famous Beatle would be joining him on stage for his second Anfield gig.
And fans weren't wrong - as his second live performance at Anfield left fans in awe as The Boss was joined on stage by Sir Paul McCartney during an encore. The stadium erupted into cheers of excitement and disbelief as Sir Paul stepped on to the stage to join friend Bruce for a duet of Can't Buy Me Love. Bruce and Sir Paul shared a hug, and played a second song together as they performed a cover of Kansas City by Little Willie Littlefield.
Throughout this week, ECHO photographers Andrew Teebay and Colin Lane were outside Anfield capturing brilliant photographs of Springsteen superfans and the incredible atmosphere. ECHO photographer Iain Watts also caught the moment McCartney arrived at LIPA.
There were so many great photos from night one and night two of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on stage - taken by Alex Cropper and also ECHO reporter Ryan Paton, who was inside the stadium the moment Sir Paul stepped out on stage to join Springsteen.
