Manchester United talent Toby Collyer is looking to really kick on and make an impression on Ruben Amorim this summer.
Manchester United’s squad will look very different come the start of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Ruben Amorim needs to bring a revolution to Old Trafford, and that has started with United agreeing to sign Matheus Cunha.
The Brazilian star brings some flair to United’s number 10 positions and will look to take his superb Wolves form into his career in Manchester.
Amorim will also cast his eye over young players during the summer, as he weighs up who can make a first-team contribution.
Gabriele Biancheri is open to a loan move, but Toby Collyer will hope to prove that he belongs in Amorim’s squad.

Toby Collyer on Lisandro Martinez
Midfielder Collyer joined United from Brighton and Hove Albion back in 2022.
Now 21, Collyer managed 174 minutes of Premier League action this past season and will be looking for more.

Collyer impressed in United’s win over Fulham in January, clearing a goal-bound effort off the line to help secure a 1-0 victory.
Lisandro Martinez raved about Collyer after that performance, suggesting that he is a ‘big example’ to other young players at the club.
“I am so happy because of this guy. This guy, honestly, is a big example for the young generation, a big example.
“I’m really happy for him because he is working so hard every day and he is so humble, so he deserves it all,” said Martinez.
Speaking to United’s official website, Collyer has now highlighted Martinez’s influence on him as he continues his development at Old Trafford.
Collyer noted that praise doesn’t get much higher, given that Martinez is a World Cup winner with Argentina.
Collyer praised Martinez’s influence on him in training and around United, aiding his development both on and off the pitch.
“You can’t really ask for anything more than that,” said Collyer upon looking back at Martinez’s praise.
“That’s coming from a World Cup winner! And Licha is another name that’s massively helped me, in training every day, around the building, to express myself, giving me little tips on the pitch and helping me through games. He’s another one that’s really helped me,” he added.
Toby Collyer’s Manchester United role unclear
Martinez may be out injured, but his role as one of United’s leaders continues as he looks to help Collyer.
The young midfielder has shown some potential in United’s midfield, but his role heading into next season is unclear.
United are looking to sign a midfielder on loan according to recent reports, as Christian Eriksen departs on a free transfer.
Collyer will be looking to step up and prove to Amorim that he deserves a chance to shine next season, which all starts with catching the eye in pre-season.
If Collyer doesn’t impress this summer, Amorim may be tempted to either loan the midfielder out or even sell him on to raise funds.
This could prove to be a crucial summer for Collyer’s United future, and he will hope to take Martinez’s advice and secure himself a role in Amorim’s squad for next season.
