The wonderkids that have walked through the doors of Old Trafford in previous years is long and lucrative with names such as Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham standing out within the long list of names over the years.
Even with the highs and low of Manchester United throughout the years, the wonderkids that have played on the hallowed turf of Old Trafford have offered a new, fresh perspective on the game and have impressed United fans throughout their times at the Red Devils.
However, it looks as if United have missed out on their latest attempt to sign a wonderkid as Jobe Bellingham – brother of Jude – looks to be on his way out of England and over to Germany.
Dortmund Close In On Bellingham
This is because Bourissa Dortmund have been reported to have beaten Manchester United to the signing of wonderkid Jobe Bellingham for a fee of 33 million euros. The midfielder has spent the 2024-25 season with Sunderland.
This comes following reported attempts from United to sign both the midfielder and attacker Chris Rigg from the Black Cats this summer following Sunderland’s dramatic promotion to the Premier League in the EFL Championship play-off final.
The targeting of both of these young and exciting prospects has been well reported on since the January transfer window.
This is because of INEOS’ intention to move away from their recruitment policies of old and move towards newer recruitment strategies which involves targeting younger players, who arguably will have more room to grow in their time at Old Trafford.
Moving On To Other Targets
This news comes at a time where Manchester United are looking to improve their squad ahead of the 2025-26 season with the Red’s pre-season schedule getting underway in a matter of weeks.
With Bellingham now looking to be out of United’s grasp, the Red Devils will have to turn their attention towards other targets such as Bryan Mbuemo and Viktor Gyokeres.
