Arsenal may want to keep tabs on the ever increasingly uncertain future of AC Milan star Rafael Leao, with it now claimed the 25-year-old is pushing to leave to San Siro during this summer transfer window.
Leao, who is under contract with the Rossoneri until 2028, found the net eight times whilst providing 10 assists in the most recent campaign, yet this was still not enough to fire his side into European competition next term.
Therefore he has seen his name banded around in early-June speculation over which players are set to be on the move this summer.
And it might be a deal Arsenal are interested in, with sporting director Andrea Berta previously claimed to have made contact with the attacker's camp to assert interest from Emirates Stadium chiefs.
As a boost in advance, back in 2023 Leao was quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport as stating: "Premier League. I think every player wants to play in the Premier League because it’s a very competitive league.
"It has engaging football, great teams and a worldwide audience. Serie A is currently very well positioned in the football world but I would definitely have to say the Premier League in the future."
Now the latest revelation could very well set such a transfer in motion.
Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg has reported the Milan star has informed the club he wishes to leave after six years, thus throwing their association into new doubt.
Milan Reports quoting Gazzetta dello Sport, that 'three certainties' are emerge. the first is that Milan do not wish to sell Leao.
Secondly, they concede Leao's €175m (£147m) release clause is never going to be met by any club.
And the third is that a 'high' offer would tempt them into discussions, with Bayern Munich leading the Gunners and any other suitors that could crop up.
The report also claims that the fee required is €70m (£59m) and that Bayern aren't at a point of tabling an offer yet, so far they have only made initial contact.
If this is the case, Arsenal would need to move to get on level ground.
But this report is contested by French publication Foot Mercato, who claim the German champions are actually in the process of lining up their first attempt at €75m (£63m).
