Newcastle United are ready to make a move to sign Jack Grealish, according to recent reports.
Indeed, Grealish is a name to have been strongly linked with Newcastle United this summer.
The Manchester City and England forward is being tipped to leave the Etihad Stadium. Grealish could cost Newcastle around £38million, which is some way below the fee City paid for him in 2021.
Grealish left Aston Villa – where he once worked with a certain Steve Bruce – for huge money, having established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League while at his boyhood club.
While the 29-year-old has won a series of impressive trophies working under Pep Guardiola, much has been made about his lack of game time in recent seasons.
Now, Eddie Howe is seemingly eager to bring him to St James’ Park.

Newcastle United are ready to approach Jack Grealish
According to The Sun, Newcastle will make an approach to sign Grealish if City give them the green light.
It’s claimed that the “£100million” winger would likely have a few clubs interested this summer, although none of them would pay both the transfer requested and the full extent of the wages involved.

The report adds that Newcastle would only pursue a loan deal. It remains to be seen how much City would contribute towards the player’s wages – said to be in the region of £300k-per-week – should he be allowed to leave.

What Steve Bruce said about Jack Grealish in 2019
Former Newcastle boss Bruce worked with Grealish while he was still developing into the player who would go on to City.
The forward always looked a talent, so it’s not as if Bruce unearthed an absolute gem from nowhere.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph in 2019, Bruce said: “He is the crown jewel and he never wanted to leave. It would be difficult for anyone to buy him with the size of contract he has got, but he could play for any team, Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal … any team. I rate him that highly.”
However, he did predict that the player could go on to play for any top team around. Whatever you may think about Grealish’s journey at City, he’s played for one of the most successful teams English football has ever seen.
If Newcastle were to sign him this summer, he’d certainly arrive with a pedigree few others in the squad can match…
