For the majority of the 2025 summer transfer window so far, Manchester United’s business have been in targeting players further up the field such as in attack and midfield.

This can be seen through the targets identified by the club such as Matheus Cunha – who United signed last week -, Bryan Mbuemo and Viktor Gyokeres.

However, we have not seen many defenders in the list of targets by United so far this summer transfer window.

United Target N’Dicka

Now, it has been reported that Manchester United have made an enquiry about AS Roma defender Evan N’Dicka who has had an impressive season at the Italian side.

N’Dicka is currently under contract until 2028 by Roma although is valued at 40 million euros.

Manchester United will also not be on their own if they are to try and sign the defender. This is because fellow Premier League Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed their interest.

The 25 year old started 38 matches during the 2024-25 season winning 81.2% of his tackles and making 134 recoveries as he alongside the rest of the Roma team finished 5th in Serie A, just outside the Champions League spots but in a Europa League spot.

Building A Squad

This comes in a time where Manchester United are trying to build a squad good enough to compete for the European spots next season as well as a team that can go far in both the EFL Cup and FA Cup.

With N’Dicka under contract under 2028, Roma will try to get a hefty fee out of either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur if the defender is to move over to England.

N’Dicka looks to be a solid defender on the surface and at 25, he arguably still has the potential to become better whilst also currently having the experience required to be a solid, reliable defender in England.
