Jalen Brunson Has No Words on Knicks Firing Tom Thibodeau

It was a successful season for the New York Knicks as they found themselves in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.

Unfortunately for New York, they were unable to reach the NBA Finals after losing to the Indiana Pacers in six games.

Despite the loss, it was still an incredible season for the Knicks as their new core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby made the team into a contender this season.

While that may be the case, the Knicks made a shocking decision after their playoff exit as they announced the firing of head coach Tom Thibodeau just three days after being eliminated in the Conference Finals.

This was a surprising move by New York as many believed that they would run it back with Thibodeau manning the sidelines next season, especially after reaching the Conference Finals.

Instead, the Knicks decided that it was time for a change and they now have a crucial search for a new head coach in front of them to begin the summer.

On Sunday, Jalen Brunson broke his silence about the Knicks’ decision to fire Thibodeau and he had no words for it.

Brunson made a post on Instagram with a picture of him and Thibodeau with a caption of a heart and crossed fingers emoji.

This was a clear message by Brunson to wish Thibodeau well in whatever comes next for the head coach.

Of course, this comes after Brunson defended Thibodeau after their playoff exit and backed him for remaining the team’s head coach next season.

Despite Brunson voicing his support for Thibodeau after their playoff exit, the Knicks did not take long to fire him just three days later.

With Thibodeau now gone, the Knicks have a major coaching search ahead of them as they are the only team in the NBA remaining with a head coach opening and one that should entice any candidate due to their roster’s star talent.
