Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has confirmed he is in Italy amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

Garnacho's time at United looked to be running out on the day of the Europa League final. He began pre-match by posting pictures of himself scoring at Wembley in the Reds' last final before it emerged that he would not be starting against Tottenham Hotspur.

Post-match, he then described United's season as having been 's***' and that he was disappointed at only playing 20 minutes against Spurs. Shortly afterwards, MEN Sport reported that Garnacho had been informed that he should look for another club next season.

This weekend, Garnacho's future was back under the spotlight once again when reports emerged that the Argentine had come to an agreement that he should seek an exit from Old Trafford this summer. With the post-season tour in Asia out of the way, the 20-year-old is now in a position to explore his options.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with the winger and speculation grew in January when his agents were spotted at Stamford Bridge. It later emerged that they visited on their own accord, rather than through an invite.

Serie A champions Napoli had a bid rejected in the winter for Garnacho by United. Antonio Conte is thought to be a big admirer of the youngster and sees him as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who they lost to PSG in January.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that three unnamed Premier League clubs are keen on Garnacho and there is also interest in Italy for his services. Coincidentally or not, Garnacho has now shared on Instagram that he is in Italy, specifically Rome, as he rests ahead of the start of pre-season.

The forward shared a picture of himself outside the Colosseum in Rome which could fuel speculation that he favours a move to Serie A this summer. Garnacho may feel that Napoli would be a good fit for him considering how Conte and the club have rejuvenated the career of Scott McTominay this season.

The summer transfer window will close briefly on June 10 before reopening on June 16 and closing once more on September 1.
