'He has decided': Man Utd must reignite their transfer interest in 37-goal star after bombshell update

Manchester United have received a major boost to bolster their attack this summer.

According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, Victor Osimhen has rejected the fifth offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal as his main priority is to stay back in Europe.

Al-Hilal had already reached a verbal agreement with Napoli and also scheduled a medical for Osimhen.

However, Osimhen has made the final decision to turn down the Saudi transfer despite the staggering salary offers he received.

The 26-year-old spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan with Galatasaray where he smashed 37 goals and provided eight assists.

Napoli are desperate to cash in on the Nigerian star after a breakdown in the relationship between the two parties.

Man United have been heavily linked with a move for Osimhen this summer as manager Ruben Amorim eyes a world-class number nine.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to establish themselves as capable options to lead United’s line.

Hojlund faces an uncertain future with Inter Milan interested in making summer swoop.

Liam Delap was United’s priority striker target but the 22-year-old opted to move to Chelsea.

Viktor Gyokeres is another name on United’s shortlist. The Sporting Lisbon star has been in terrific form and is destined for a mega-money transfer.

He could be a solid addition to United’s attack, especially considering he shone under the guidance of Amorim during their time at Sporting.

The only concern with Gyokeres is that he has yet to prove his worth in the big leagues, something which Osimhen has already done.

Osimhen played an integral role in helping Napoli win their first Scudetto since 1990.

He has the experience to play in elite competitions and could take less time to settle at Manchester.

Signing either of the strikers will be possible only if United offload a few of their stars, such as Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho.
