Reijnders has revealed that he left the Dutch camp to undergo his medical at Manchester City for two key reasons.

To complete a deal to City and play at the FIFA Club World Cup

To get to know his new teammates as quickly as possible

Reijnders, who Manchester City could sign for £46 million said via Gazetta dello Sport: “I couldn’t wait any longer.”

“The intention is to participate in the Club World Cup with City. I’m excited about it. This way I can get to know my new teammates straight away. I’ll return to Zeist on Sunday evening. Then I’ll prepare for Tuesday’s match against Malta.”

David Ornstein revealed what “everybody” tells him about Tijjani Reijnders

Pep Guardiola admires Reijnders and judging by his latest comments, the Manchester City boss can sleep well knowing he can rely on him to give it his all during the Club World Cup.

The AC Milan midfielder is up for the challenge of competing in the United States, despite making 54 appearances for the Italian giants last season.

David Ornstein revealed Reijnders’ reputation is one where “everybody” he speaks to raves about his qualities and believe the silky technician deserves to be playing Champions League football.

Ornstein disclosed: “But everybody I speak to who knows him far better than me knows that it was time for him to go, despite signing a new contract not long ago because he’s a Champions League-level player and they’re not in the Champions League and they could do with the finances.”

“That looks like a shrewd addition.”
