Report: Manchester United, Fulham emerge as candidates for Bayern Munich’s João Palhinha

Manchester United and Fulham have emerged as candidates to make a play for seldom-used Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha per TEAMtalk:

Bayern Munich are open to selling midfielder João Palhinha, with sources informing TEAMtalk they will consider offers worth around £25million (€30m / $34m) amid interest from Manchester United and Fulham.

The 29-year-old joined Bayern from Fulham for £46m in July 2024 but has struggled to cement a regular starting spot under Vincent Kompany, prompting speculation about his future. Limited by injuries and fierce competition in Bayern’s midfield, Palhinha’s lacklustre stint in Bavaria has led to the club’s willingness to listen to proposals.

Palhinha never got on track during his first season in Bavaria and the arrival of highly-touted Hoffenheim star Tom Bischof could further complicate matters for the Portuguese international. If he wants a fresh start and a chance for more playing time, a move back to England might not be the worst idea.

Palhinha has been reluctant to leave Bavaria, but an opportunity to play more could entice him.
