Chelsea have since sent Sancho back to United, paying a £5million penalty clause for failing to complete a permanent deal.
United need to find a buyer and West Ham United have some interest in Sancho as he returns to Old Trafford.
A saviour may be on the horizon, though, with Sky Sports reporting that Borussia Dortmund have now asked United to be kept up to date on Sancho’s future.
Sancho excelled for Dortmund before his move to United and then returned to the Bundesliga side in January 2024.
Another return to Signal Iduna Park could now be in the offing, with Dortmund keen to be kept in the loop over any potential Sancho exit.

Dortmund may not be ready to make a move right now, but much will – ironically – depend on Chelsea.
The Blues sent Sancho back to United and are now looking for another left winger for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Sky Sports report that Chelsea’s offer to sign Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens has been rejected, though the Blues are expected to return with a new offer.
Chelsea will hope to land Gittens to replace Sancho, and Dortmund may in turn move to sign Sancho to replace Gittens.
Sancho may have been sent back by Chelsea, but their plans to replace him may actually help United offload the winger once and for all.
