Latest news and rumours from around the Premier League involving Arsenal, Aston Villa and Chelsea updates

Premier League clubs have the chance to bring in new signings over the next couple of months. Liverpool won the title this past season and will be hoping to do the same again in the next campaign ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. Meanwhile, Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland are back in the big time.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea will ‘battle it out’ for Porto striker Samu Aghehowa this summer, according to CaughtOffside. The attacker is a man in-demand and his current club could struggle to keep hold of him. He is a Spain international with two caps under his belt.

Aghehowa, 21, made the move to Portugal last year and has since been prolific in front of goal. He has scored 25 goals in all competitions in 42 matches. The forward has also had spells in the past at Granada, Atletico Madrid and Alaves.

Aston Villa eye Adrien Truffert move

Aston Villa are ‘keen’ on a move for Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert, as per The Sun. AFC Bournemouth have also been credited with an interest in the Ligue 1 man. Unai Emery could see him as someone to boost his defensive department ahead of next term.

Truffert, 23, has risen up through the academy ranks at Roazhon Park. He was a regular at various different youth levels before breaking into the b team. The defender then became a key member of the first-team and he has since played 191 matches, finding the net on nine occasions from the back.

The 3AM Verdict: Adrien Truffert has caught the eye over in France and could be a shrewd addition if Aston Villa got him. He would give them more competition and depth at the back and another option to pick from. They may need to see off competition from AFC Bournemouth though and the Cherries need to find a replacement for Milos Kerkez if he heads out the exit door.

Chelsea target Fermin Lopez could leave Barcelona

Barcelona could let Fermin Lopez leave amid attention from Chelsea, Spanish news outlet Sport claim. Enzo Maresca’s men are being linked with a swoop for the La Liga man. It remains to be seen at this stage whether they will lodge an official approach.

Lopez, 22, was on the books at Real Betis as a teenager before Barca came calling. He played 46 matches this past season altogether. The Spaniard found the net on eight occasions, six of which came in the league, and his future is up in the air right now.

The 3AM Verdict: Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez would be an eye-catching signing by Chelsea if they were able to secure his services. He would inject quality into their squad and is a player who has proved that he can chip in with a goal. As with anyone from abroad though, it may take him time to adapt to life in England if he moved to Stamford Bridge and the Blues would have to be patient with him whilst he settled in.
