Bayern could sell £30m in-demand player amid Liverpool interest – report

Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to offload Kim Min-Jae in the summer transfer window, and several clubs, including Liverpool, are interested.

The Reds could be looking to add a new centre-back in the summer as Arne Slot wants to add more depth and quality to his star-studded squad.

Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain are also in the hunt to sign the South Korean defender, while Serie A giants AC Milan have been linked with a move for Kim Min-jae recently.

According to sources at Caught Offside, several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United, are interested in signing the 28-year-old defender.

Virgil van Dijk will continue at Anfield for a couple of years, but doubts remain over the long-term futures of Jarrell Quansah and Joe Gomez.

Ibrahima Konate has yet to extend his deal at Liverpool, and the Reds could let him go if they fail to reach an agreement.

PSG are heavily interested in signing Min-jae, and as per Foot Mercato, Luis Campos, the club’s sports advisor, has met with the South Korean’s agent.

German newspaper Bild claims that the meeting has not yet taken place, but PSG are very fond of the defender, whose value has dropped to £30m.

Kim Min-jae could be set for Bayern Munich exit

Although Kompany used Min-jae heavily last season, he has failed to recapture the form he showed during his time at Napoli.

The club are keen to recoup the money they spent on Min-jae, and after signing Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, his exit could be on the cards.

Kompany, moreover, favours a player like Maxime Esteve, who has played under him at Burnley.

As it stands, Min-jae will travel with Bayern for the Club World Cup, but his future is far from certain in the summer. After two seasons at the Bavarian club, he could move elsewhere.
