Dortmund Track Jadon Sancho for Another Potential Return

Borussia Dortmund are once again interested in bringing Jadon Sancho back, as Manchester United prepare for a summer sale.

Dortmund Ready to Move as United Plan Sancho Exit

Jadon Sancho’s future is once again up for debate this June. Borussia Dortmund are back in the picture again. After his brief loan spell in Germany earlier this year, the Bundesliga club is reportedly keeping tabs on a potential return. Man Utd are now looking to sell the winger on a permanent.

Sancho hasn’t played a competitive game for the Red Devils since August last year. That is due to a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag. When he loaned to Dortmund he helped them get to the Champions League final. But, they decided not trigger the long-term deal.

Now, Utd is preparing for a big summer rebuild under INEOS and new boss Ruben Amorim. So, Jadon is one of the names likely to be shown the door. The club is looking to gather funds for new signings and hopes to get around £25–30m from his sale. That figure might be a stretch for BVB. But, they are said to be more interested in another loan. Although, that is not what Utd are currently keen on.

Sancho Waiting for Offers as Chelsea Walk Away

Meanwhile, Chelsea also had a clause to buy Sancho following a reported interest earlier this year. But, they too chose to step away from a deal. They paid a penalty fee to avoid a £25m purchase clause. That is largely due to failed talks over wage reductions. This leaves Sancho back at square one, unsure of his next destination. He was once hailed as one of Europe’s brightest young stars. However, his form and market value have taken a hit since his 2021 transfer to Utd for £73m.

With just one year left on his current contract, Jadon is now waiting for fresh offers. While Dortmund’s interest is clear, Red Devils would prefer a permanent sale rather than a loan move.
