Nottingham Forest are going to be on the hunt for a number of players this summer with European football on the horizon.
However, not every player they target will come to fruition, with several clubs in the same boat during the transfer window.
Igor Jesus is set to sign for Forest. The Reds are also linked with Cuiabano and Jair Cunha from Botafogo and both could join their current teammate on Trentside.
The deal for Jesus has been pretty straightforward, but that won’t always be the case as Evangelos Marinakis aims to ensure the squad is well-stocked for Nuno Espirito Santo next season.

Nottingham Forest missed out on Gabri Veiga
It’s been claimed on the front page of Portuguese newspaper O Jogo that Forest tried to land Veiga before he eventually chose to sign for Porto.
The 23-year-old has moved back to Europe after two seasons in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli.
Last season, he bagged eight goals and registered six assists from 46 appearances in the Middle East and was sought-after back in Europe.
Dortmund were keen to sign the versatile forward, with Forest providing interest from the Premier League.
MORE FOREST STORIES
The Reds are going to try and target a number of players in attacking positions this summer, with the strength in depth available to Espirito Santo a huge factor in Forest not qualifying for the Champions League.
Despite playing largely as a winger, Veiga is a huge fan of Jude Bellingham and said of the Real Madrid man: “Bellingham is one of the best midfielders in the world and I learn a lot from him.”
Forest will have compiled an extensive list of targets
Not every player that Forest makes a play for will come off and that merely highlights the tricky nature of the transfer window.
Veiga would clearly have been a very useful signing for Forest and does boast experience of playing in Europe with Celta Vigo.
However, he’s chosen to join Porto for £12 million, and that’s something that Forest will have to live with for now.
It really is a case of next man up when it comes to attacking the shortlist of targets, and perhaps Forest will keep tabs on Veiga and how he performs at Porto.
Forwards will be a must this summer, and the hope will be that Forest can add one or two, along with Jesus, before pre-season gets underway.
