Thomas Frank could pursue Brentford duo Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa if he becomes the Tottenham boss
Tottenham Hotspur parted ways with Ange Postecoglou last week despite winning the UEFA Europa League under him, and they now look to start a new era under different leadership.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants Thomas Frank to replace Ange Postecoglou at the helm, with the Brentford manager also keen on the move. The Dane has proven himself to be a smart, savvy tactician working on a shoestring budget at Brentford, which has been among the biggest appeals to the Lilywhites.
After a disastrous domestic season, rebuilding the club under the incoming new boss with the right players is the need of an hour at White Hart Lane. Thomas Frank has reportedly already identified his first signing as a potential Tottenham boss in the form of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
The 25-year-old enjoyed the best season of his Premier League career, banging 20 goals and registering seven assists in 38 games. This has led to interest from several top Premier League clubs, but the Cameroonian international has expressed his desire to join Manchester United.
Now, former Crystal Palace and Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew expects not only Brentford’s Mbeumo to be a target of Frank, but also Yoane Wissa. He believes the Danish tactician will want Mbeumo to follow him at Tottenham, possibly asking him to hold off on deciding over a move to Old Trafford. The English pundit also feels Yoane Wissa is another player who would fit at Spurs if they were to get him from the Bees.
“I’m 100 per cent sure [Frank will want Mbeumo at Spurs]. I’m sure he’s tipping him off and saying, ‘just hold your horses a little bit’. Wissa is again another prime target and would fit well if he were to move to Spurs. So, I think both of those would be in the equation,” Alan Pardew told on talkSPORT show.

Bryan Mbeumo wants to join Manchester United but should Tottenham hijack the move?
Mbeumo and Wissa have struck a formidable partnership up top for the Bees, scoring goals left, right and centre. The duo delivered an eye-catching 54 goal contributions in 81 appearances this past season, providing themselves lethal in the final third.
Having achieved top-flight recognition under Frank, both the African forwards will be tempted to move across the capital if the Danish tactician wants to reunite with them. Son Heung-min’s powers are waning and could be cashed in on this summer, along with Richarlison, who continues to be linked with a return to Everton.

If Frank is appointed as the new boss, Tottenham may have an advantage in signing Mbeumo and Wissa from Brentford. Given Mbeumo is keen to join Man United, Spurs would need some convincing to do to get him on board.
