Tijjani Reijnders is brimming with excitement as he prepares to join [Manchester City](https://www.express.co.uk/latest/manchester-city-fc), having already undergone a medical ahead of his transfer from AC Milan. The Dutch midfielder, 26, has penned a five-year deal with the Premier League giants for a fee of £46million and is eager to make his mark at the upcoming Club World Cup.

Speaking to Gazzetta, Reijnders couldn't hide his excitement as he confirmed the move before any official club announcement: "The medical? I couldn't wait to do it. The plan is to take part at the Club World Cup with City. I'm really excited about that. Doing that means I'll get to know my new team-mates sooner."

Despite a lacklustre season for Milan overall with the Italian giants finishing eighth in Serie A, Reijnders shone brightly, netting 15 goals in the 2024-25 campaign. His arrival at City could spell uncertainty for Jack Grealish's future, especially after reports suggested the England international is to be excluded from City's final 35-man squad for the Club World Cup.

Grealish, 29, has recently faced limited game time, including being left on the bench during last month's FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace and not featuring in the season's closing match against Fulham.
